Two officials from the Zanzibar Economic Empowerment Agency (ZEEA), Kassim Haji Mrisho and Juma Maabad Ahmed, had the opportunity to attend a specialized training for Certified Financial Educators organized by the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) in collaboration with Zanzibar University. The training aimed to prepare trainers who will provide financial education to ordinary citizens in Zanzibar, particularly those in rural areas.

The Zanzibar Economic Empowerment Agency (ZEEA), established by Law No. 2 of 2022, is dedicated to strengthening the economic empowerment of Zanzibari citizens. Its mission is to enhance productivity, efficiency, and market access for local entrepreneurs and businesspeople. ZEEA focuses on creating an enabling environment that supports citizens in leveraging economic opportunities, thereby contributing to the overall socio-economic development of Zanzibar.
