In a historic step toward transforming financial inclusion for women,TAMFI attended the TBA Women’s event which is a beacon of progress and empowerment. Against the backdrop of vivid discussions, key stakeholders gathered under one roof—leaders like the Deputy Governor of Financial Stability, Ms. Sauda Msemo who was the guest of honor alongside prominent CEOs, and entrepreneurs united by a shared vision of overcoming the barriers women face in accessing credit and savings.the event was hosted at Dar es Salaam Hotel on 9th April 2025.
The conversations were far-reaching, addressing the deep-rooted challenges that hinder women’s participation in the financial ecosystem. Speakers passionately emphasized the need to reimagine financial systems—ones that not only recognize the immense economic contributions of women but actively work to empower them.
Central to the event was the National Financial Inclusion Framework 2023-2028, which ambitiously aims for 95% access and 75% usage of financial services across Tanzania. With such goals, the event illuminated another critical issue: the need for greater gender diversity in the leadership of banking and financial institutions. It was clear that amplifying women’s voices at decision-making levels could unlock new pathways for equality and innovation.
The momentum didn’t stop there. Attendees were encouraged to think beyond traditional boundaries, with a rallying call for innovative solutions, mentorship programs, and promoting financial literacy. These strategies were identified as vital stepping stones toward sustainable progress.
As the event concluded, a renewed sense of purpose filled the room—one driven by the conviction that accelerating women’s financial inclusion isn’t just an economic necessity but a moral imperative.
