Joyce is among the 24 outstanding entrepreneurs shortlisted for the 4th Citi Micro-entrepreneurship Awards(CMA) in Tanzania.

Business: Flour, honey and wine Production

The business success is a result of having quality products, branding and packaging. Sido provided her with technical skill before giving her a first loan of Tshs 500,000 for six months. And after reaching her loan limit, they introduced her to NMB bank, where she can borrow more money. The company produces about 400 kg per week of flour. The customers are reached by going shop to shop and distributing her phone number.
Vision: Having an efficient quality machine for grinding, Increase production, able to supply to other regions, being certified by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), buying a truck for delivering her products.
Challenge: Lack of enough capital to fulfil the demand, transport for delivery, Lack of enough quality machinery.
Impact: Help the underprivileged in the community, employment, cater for her family, build rentals.
Opinion: Joyce can adapt to the market need in regards to her products. When she supplies to new locations and her products don’t sell as expected, she finds out why and try to align the products accordingly where possible.
