General Members
To qualify as a general member, an organization must:

- Be an microfinance institution legally registered in Tanzania
- Be directly involved in the provision of savings and credit instruments to micro and
small enterprises for business purposes - Have in its objectives the provision of savings and credit to small businesses. In other
words, it should not be operating a microfinance program outside the organization's
objectives.
Associate Members
Associate members are organizations or institutions which, though not directly involved in the
provision of microfinance, are involved in microfinance as donors or direct providers of
services to MFIs. For example, loan guarantee funds and technical assistance organizations
are eligible to become associate members of TAMFI.
