Invitation to International Conference on Responsible and Inclusive Finance (ICRIF)

 

The Association of Microfinance Institutions in Rwanda in partnership with Rwanda’s Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN), SEEP Network, the Smart Campaign, Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR) and SBFIC is organizing an International Conference on Responsible and Inclusive Finance (ICRIF) planned on 21-22 March 2018 at Kigali Marriott Hotel.

The objective of this conference is to foster a more responsible and inclusive financial system by providing opportunities for learning and collaboration for a large and diverse group of stakeholders in Rwanda, Sub-Saharan Africa and the global community, in order to boost understanding of product offerings and actual use of financial services, and consumer protection to ensure that financial inclusion strategies are implemented responsibly.

This conference targets all actors that implement activities and partnerships, or have supervisory responsibilities in the financial inclusion space, including Microfinance Institutions, Financial Inclusion Experts, Microfinance Associations, Government Representatives, Researchers, International and Local NGOs, Technical and Financial Development Partners, Responsible Finance Standards Setting Bodies, for a total of 400 participants including more than a half of them from outside Rwanda.

The Government of Rwanda as a key partner through different sectors and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in particular, has been steadily working to raise the level of financial inclusion in the country. Its National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) contains a series of actionable policy objectives to be undertaken by various actors, including both public and private sector institutions and agencies, to increase access and use of financial services.

The East African Microfinance Network (EAMFINET) has been a key partner in promoting sustainable and inclusive growth, which benefits the people of our Countries.
